Solo Arrangements, Examples

The complexity of the ten examples in this section are classified as either simple or advanced, with five of each. The simple arrangements avoid difficult chords, large intervals, and very fast passages. The ten examples are available in musical notation including tablature (png, pdf, gp5, and gp6), audio (mp3), and video (streaming and mp4). The format gp5 is read by the free programs TefView and Tux Guitar, and gp6 is read by the commercial package Guitar Pro 6. For consistency they are all are played on the same guitar, a 7-string Ibanez AF207, without making any attempt to fit the sound to each song. The arrangements are a little easier to play, particularly the hammer-ons and pull-offs, on a standard electric such as a strat, tele, or les paul so if you want to make life easier for yourself don't start practicing an advanced arrangement on a hollow-body jazz guitar with a set of heavy gauge strings.

Phrasing and ties are removed from the clock notation in order to avoid clutter and let you see clearly which notes are being played.
